LAX - Los Angeles International Airport - is it the very worst?

Los Angeles is my favorite city in the world. Some may argue not really a city but a large area made up of 88 towns without the normal city vibe of a New York or Paris. Regardless, it is a ‘city’ with just about something for everyone from the downtown district to the beaches to the fabulous malls and stores to the movie studios and unquestionably one of the finest climates on earth. It has a population within the larger metropolitan areas of around 18 million people so many of whom have migrated from all over the world for so many obvious reasons. So, apart from lousy driving, is there any bad news? YES - the airport, LAX really sucks! Nowhere near large enough nor suitably situated for one of the World’s most visited cities with almost 50 million annually. Getting to it is always very time consuming; very little public transport and total congestion when you do get near the terminals. Long lines at security with grouchy staff, not unique to LA of course, but certainly a feature there. Often busses to planes in 2020 and when you return from your journey, never a gate for your plane to park, more long lines, ridiculous waits for baggage and then into a bus to get you to your Lyft, Uber or Taxi. Upgrade please!
